Terms

The terms Roadstead is provided under. Last substantive change: 26 September 2026.

1. Who these are between

Roadstead is operated by Severin Schwanck (see the imprint, "we"). They apply between us and whoever holds an account ("you").

2. Early access

Roadstead is in early access and available by invitation only. That is not a disclaimer decorating a finished product — it is the actual state of the service, and it has consequences worth stating plainly:

  • There is no availability commitment and no service level agreement. The service may be unavailable, and may be taken down for changes without notice.
  • Features may change or be withdrawn. Some of what is here today will work differently later.
  • Do not use Roadstead as the only copy of anything you cannot lose. Keep your own export.
  • We may end your access, and may end early access entirely, with reasonable notice — except where an account has to be closed at once under section 5.

Early access is free of charge. If Roadstead ever becomes a paid service, that is a new agreement you would have to enter into, not a change we can make to this one.

3. Your account

You need an invitation and an email address you control. Sign-in is by single-use link sent to that address, so whoever can read that inbox can reach your account — keep it secure, and tell us if it is compromised. Do not share an account; invite people to the workspace instead, which is what the roster is for.

Resource ceilings apply per workspace — how many workspaces, members, visitors, pending invitations, pending proposals, content types, objects, channels, locales, API keys and how much storage. The current numbers are shown in the app where they bind. We may raise them; we do not lower one below what an account already uses.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep every right you have in the content you put into Roadstead. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond the one we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, serve it to the channels and applications you point at it, and back it up. We do not use your content to train anything, and we do not disclose it to anyone except the processors named in the privacy notice, or where the law obliges us to — for instance an order from a court or authority.

You are responsible for what you put in — that you may lawfully store and publish it, and that doing so does not infringe anyone's rights. Where your content contains other people's personal data, you are the controller for that data and we are your processor.

5. What you may not do

Do not use Roadstead to:

  • store or distribute unlawful content, or content that infringes a third party's rights;
  • send unsolicited mail, or use our sign-in and invitation mail to reach people who did not ask to hear from you;
  • attack the service or anyone else's workspace — probing for access you were not granted, circumventing a limit, or degrading availability for others;
  • resell access to accounts or credentials issued to you.

Where any of this is happening, we may suspend the account at once and without notice, because waiting would let the harm continue. We will say what the reason was.

6. AI features

Roadstead provides no AI service of its own and holds no provider key. If you enable AI assistance, you supply your own key for a provider you select, and your relationship with that provider — its terms, its prices, what it does with what you send — is yours, not ours. Generated text is a suggestion you accept or discard; we make no claim about its accuracy or its fitness for anything, and you are responsible for what you choose to publish.

7. Ending it

You may stop at any time and delete your account from your settings. Deletion starts a 14-day grace period, after which your personal data is anonymised; the privacy notice says exactly what happens to what.

Export your content before you go: a deleted workspace's content is purged 7 days later, and after that we cannot return it to you. If we end your access, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export first, unless section 5 required an immediate suspension.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever German law allows no limitation. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of a material obligation — one the contract exists to fulfil — and only up to the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of agreement. Liability beyond that is excluded.

Because early access is free of charge and carries no availability commitment, loss of data or profit arising from unavailability is not foreseeable damage typical of this agreement. Section 2 is the reason to keep your own export, and it is a term of this agreement rather than advice.

9. Changes to these terms

We may propose changes to these terms where a change is necessary and reasonable. A change that materially affects you will be announced by email to the address on your account at least 30 days before it takes effect, and applies to you only once you accept it — silence or simply continuing to use Roadstead does not count as acceptance. If you do not accept, either of us may end the agreement, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your content first.

10. Applicable law

German law applies. Where you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory law in your country of residence. The place of performance and, where the law permits an agreement on it, the place of jurisdiction is the operator's place of business.

If a provision here is invalid, the rest stands, and the invalid one is replaced by what the law provides.
